Barry Summers, M.D., Ph.D, F.A.C.S.

Dr. Barry Summers graduated with Honors from Drake University. After receiving his Bachelors degree in Biology, he spent two years doing post-graduate work in circulatory physiology.
Dr. Summers received a full tuition scholarship through medical school and entered a six-year M.D./PhD program at The Chicago Medical School graduating with M.D and PhD degrees. His PhD Thesis was in cardiovascular physiology. Dr. Summers completed a General Surgery Residency at The University of Chicago Hospitals and Mount Sinai Medical Center. After completing his residency, he opened a private practice specializing in general surgery and phlebology.
Dr. Summers is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. His professional memberships include:

Dr. Summers remains active in the medical community and is currently a clinical instructor for surgical residents at the University of Illinois Metro Surgical Program. He has also taught in the Department of Surgery at Finch University of Medical Sciences, The Chicago Medical School and in the Department of Biosciences at Drake University.

Jessica L. Fanning, Esthetician, Laser Specialist, Director of Education and Instructor

Jessica received her Bachelors Degree from University of Iowa in 2002. In 2003, she returned to school for skin care after a being diagnosed and successfully treated for basal cell carcinoma (the most common form of skin cancer). She completed over 1000 clinical hours at the University of Aesthetics in Downer Grove, IL where she received her degree to become an Esthetician. Jessica graduated top of her class with honors.
Jessica immediately developed an interest in corrective skin care treatments and her passion is finding long-term results for people. She went on to receive an advanced Laser Safety Officer certification, five chemical peel certifications, two microdermabrasion certifications, and ten laser certifications. Jessica has seven years of experience performing laser treatments such as laser hair removal, facial and leg vein therapy, photofacials, and rosacea and acne treatments. She also has two years of experience performing semi-ablative laser resurfacing such as Fraxel and Pixel. In addition, she also has experience in esthetic treatments such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, electro-stimulation, light therapy, and recommending home care programs.
Jessica has appeared on 190 North, Fox News, ABC News and the CW Network for her expertise in cosmetic laser treatments and "How to Choose a Medical Spa". She has also written an article on Holistic Acne Therapy for Skin Inc, a professional trade publication for Estheticians. In early 2011, she contributed to an article on Social Media in medical spas for MedEsthetics magazine.
In her extra time, Jessica trains Doctors and nurses in the area on how to safely and effectively perform cosmetic laser and esthetic treatments. She is also dedicated to continuing her education on up-to-date trends in the medical spa world, healthy aging inside and out, holistic acne therapy and laser safety.
Currently, Jessica is enthusiastically attending courses in Homeopathy and is expected in be certified in Spring of 2012. In the last year, she has been actively pursuing advanced training in Nutrition, Yoga & Meditation, Ayurveda and Homeopathy.
Hilary Verhaeghe, Esthetician & Laser Specialist

In 2007 Hilary attended Kar Che -The Professional Career Center in Mesa, Arizona. graduating as a Clinical Aesthetician and Laser Technician, she was chosen for an internship with North Valley Plastic Surgery in Phoenix, Arizona. Hilary continued working in the medical aesthetic field and also attending skin care seminars with PCA .
What really made her enthusiastic about her profession was seeing first hand the difference a consistent, quality skin care routine made with her clients. Not only did they look better but, they also felt better about themselves. She truly makes a connection with her clients! Their conversations end up with the guest knowing what her skin care goals are and how they will achieve them together.
Hilary returned back home to the Chicago area to continue her profession. She is consistently taking classes for clinical aesthetics. Along with this she has developed an interest in the connection nutrition has with our skin. Nutrition and its benefits will be an in depth area of study for Hilary.
Hilary's free time is taken up with running, yoga, pilates and an overall healthy balanced lifestyle.
